Lakeside Classy Boho Wedding for Lauren + Ben

Lauren + Ben celebrated their big day at the one and only, incredible Lakeway Spa and Resort. There were so many things we loved about this day, and one was this jaw-dropping venue. Ben + Lauren were able to celebrate with their family and friends right on the water with a view that was truly breathtaking!

Our team often talks about how incredible not only this wedding was, but how incredible the couple is. Ben + Lauren are both generous, compassionate, caring, strong, and loving people who made the wedding planning process such a joy to be a part of. It is always so fun to get to know the couple as time goes on, and we loved that we had the privilege of seeing these two walk through the wedding planning process together.

We always talk with our clients about how things can change and shift during the wedding planning process because a lot can happen in a year to a year in a half. Well, one day out of the blue, we got a Facetime from Lauren and she surprised us by telling us that she was pregnant. We were elated for her and Ben and immediately started talking about how we would have to adapt a few things for their wedding that was coming up. Well, Abbie just so happens to be great friends with Lauren's sister, and about 3 minutes after she got off the phone with Lauren, she got a call from Lauren's sister, Caitlin. Turns out, Caitlin just found out she was pregnant and both her and her sister (living in separate countries) were having boys and were due on THE SAME EXACT DAY!!! What are the odds?! This just made everything about the wedding planning process and the big day so much sweeter. PS - Lauren is full proof that you can be pregnant on your wedding day and still look stunning and have a blast!

In the past two years, we have heard a ton of stories in the wedding industry on how covid has affected wedding plans and has caused a lot of couples to shift and change their wedding plans. Well, Lauren's sister Caitlin actually lives in Australia and they were one of the most strict countries for travel. They weren't letting anyone in and if you left, they weren't going to let you back into the country. Caitlin was not able to make it to the wedding in Austin, so instead, we had someone from our team, walk around all day and night with a tablet to make sure that Caitlin and her fiance were able to be a part of the big day and witness it all even from across the pond. It definitely didn't replace her being there in person, but it was the best way we could make it work!

One of the goals we had when planning Lauren and Ben's wedding was to transform the Lakeway Spa and Resort event space to be more whimsical and romantic. There are a lot of different components to make that happen, two of which are lighting and floral design. It is so vital and important to go with a floral designer who is going to make your vision become a reality, and that is exactly what Laura, with Mountain Laurel Floral did!

From the backdrop to the tablescapes, to the bouquets, to the details - she went above and beyond to make sure this day was nothing less than perfect. Her special touch on the day added so much elegance and class with a splash of boho vibes, and we created a space that blew all of the guests away!

Needless to say, Lauren and Ben's day was one for the books. They are proof that you don't have to have a perfectly planned wedding process for it to be perfect. You just need to make sure you keep love at the forefront of the process and embrace the shifts and changes that life brings you. Lauren and Ben, we love you and we are so thankful you trusted us with your wedding planning process!

Stay tuned because later this year, Lauren's sister Caitlin is finally getting to come back to the US and have her wedding in the mountains of Colorado and both of their baby boys will be there to join us!
